Rebel 1100, Rebel 500 and the Shadow Phantom 750 — the go-to custom-base cruisers.

Rebel 1100CMX1100

The Rebel 1100 launched for 2021 as the range-topping Rebel, using a retuned 1,084 cc SOHC Unicam parallel-twin derived from the CRF1100L Africa Twin with a 270-degree crank for a V-twin-like character. It was Honda's first cruiser offered with the 6-speed DCT automatic alongside a conventional 6-speed manual, and pairs modern electronics (throttle-by-wire, ride modes, traction control, cruise control) with a low bobber stance. For 2023-2024 Honda added the Rebel 1100T touring 'bagger' variant with a handlebar fairing and lockable colour-matched panniers.

Notes & conventions
  • Figures use metric-first with imperial in parentheses and Australian/British spelling (tyre, aluminium, colour). Dimensions follow Honda's published spec sheets; small differences between Honda US and Honda UK sheets exist (e.g. kerb weight and seat-height rounding).
  • Honda does not quote crank horsepower in US materials; the Rebel power figures shown are manufacturer-claimed crank output from Honda Europe/UK (PS/kW), converted to HP. Shadow Phantom figures are independently measured, as Honda never published a claimed figure.
  • The Rebel 1100 is offered with a conventional 6-speed manual OR a 6-speed automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT); the DCT adds roughly 10 kg and about USD $700 over the manual. Rebel 500 is 6-speed manual only; Shadow Phantom is 5-speed.
  • Final drive differs by family: both Rebels use chain, the Shadow Phantom uses a maintenance-light shaft drive.
  • Rebel 1100 compression is listed as 10.1:1 in 2021 US launch materials but 10.5:1 on Honda's current UK/US sheets for the same unchanged engine; MSRP figures exclude destination/freight.
