Boulevard M109RVZR1800
Suzuki's flagship power cruiser, built around a big-bore 1783cc liquid-cooled V-twin with car-sized 112mm pistons and a fat 240-section rear tyre. It pairs muscle-cruiser styling with an inverted front fork and radial-mount brakes for genuine sporting intent. Sold globally as the Intruder M1800R, it stayed largely unchanged mechanically across its long run. The blacked-out B.O.S.S. (Blacked Out Special Suzuki) edition became the signature trim in later years.
Notes & conventions
- •North American "Boulevard" models are sold elsewhere as Suzuki "Intruder" (M109R = Intruder M1800R / VZR1800) or under legacy names (S40 = LS650 Savage).
- •Power and torque figures are manufacturer-claimed at the crank; Suzuki does not publish output for every US-market year, so some values are drawn from period road tests and reputable databases.
- •Weights are quoted wet/curb (ready-to-ride with fluids and full fuel) unless explicitly marked dry.
- •Final drive differs by model: the M109R and C50 use a shaft, while the S40 uses a belt.
- •None of these three models offered ABS across the eras covered here; all use conventional (non-linked) hydraulic brakes.
