The Bolt is Yamaha's entry-level Star "bobber" cruiser, launched for 2014 around the air-cooled 942 cc V-twin also used in the earlier V-Star 950. Compact, low and light, it was pitched as a customisable urban cruiser rivalling the Harley-Davidson Sportster. The R-Spec trim adds piggyback rear shocks and darker finishes. Sold as the XV950 internationally; dropped from the US line-up after the 2020 model year while continuing in some markets.
